Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has recently reported that solicitors are ranked among the most trusted sources of information – second to family and friends.
The report exposes the challenges buyers face:
- Long conveyancing delays (averaging 17 weeks in 2024).
- “Information gaps” that leave many confused and frustrated.
- Almost 1 in 3 buyers discovering key issues after the purchase.
CCPC calls reforms, including mandatory pre-sale information and a more streamlined conveyancing process.
Buying a home is one of life’s biggest decisions and it important to focus on greater transparency as informed buyers make better decisions and experience fewer delays.
