Hugh J Ward & Co Solicitors was pleased to co-host, for the second consecutive year, the Conference on Accounts Receivable Management in Local Government, alongside Credit Management Outsource Solutions, Ascendas Business Solutions, and the Credit Management Institute of Ireland.
Building on the success of last year’s event, the conference once again brought together representatives from Local Authorities across Ireland, providing a valuable forum to explore both the legal and practical aspects of accounts receivable management.
Local Authorities continue to operate in an increasingly complex environment, where the effective management of accounts receivable requires a careful balance of legal compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic enforcement.
The conference provided an opportunity to examine these challenges in detail, while also facilitating open discussion and knowledge-sharing across the sector.
A number of important legal topics were explored throughout the day, including:
- Pre- and post-judgement debt recovery procedures
- Legal considerations in enforcement and compliance
- Insights from a Section 11 case study from a Local Authority perspective
- The importance of aligning legal strategy with operational processes
These discussions highlighted the need for a structured and informed approach to debt recovery, ensuring that Local Authorities are equipped to act effectively.
At Hugh J Ward & Co Solicitors, we remain committed to supporting Local Authorities in navigating the legal complexities of accounts receivable and debt recovery.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and building on the success of this year’s event in the years ahead.
